Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida receives $30,000 grant from the Arby’s Foundation

Pensacola, Fla. – The Arby’s Foundation is committed to supporting every community where Arby’s has a restaurant. The Northwest Florida-area Arby’s team recently selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida to be a recipient of a $30,000 grant, which will be used to support our Beyond School Walls program in Escambia County. In total, the Arby’s Foundation anticipates giving out nearly 200 local grants across the U.S.

Our Beyond School Walls program is aimed at helping students improve their chances of graduating and transitioning to the workplace, post-secondary education, vocational school, or the military. This exposure and encouragement from volunteer mentors makes a world of difference.

From 1990 to 2010, Arby’s was Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s longest standing corporate partner, supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission for over 20 years, and giving more than 30 million dollars to Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2018, the partnership renewed, bringing together Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, and No Kid Hungry, giving them the ability to have a greater impact on a child’s wellbeing by addressing youth leadership and career readiness in addition to childhood hunger.

We’re proud to be a recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Arby’s Foundation, which will help us ensure our Littles are self-sufficient and earning a living wage by the age of 26. Thank you Arby’s for your support to help us positively impact our community. We are excited to stand alongside you and watch our Littles as their self-esteem blossoms, grades improve and they graduate high school with plans for the future.
