Wind Creek Hospitality Gifts $10K to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida

Pensacola, Fla. – Wind Creek Hospitality presented a gift of $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida (BBBSNWFL) in support of the
30th Anniversary Bold Steps Campaign. This gift included support and expansion of the Bigs with Badges program. The check presentation took place at the new BBBSNWFL office located at 1320 Creighton Rd, Pensacola FL, 32504.

Big Brothers of Big Sisters’ nationwide initiative to recruit those who wear badges as mentors will pay dividends for the mentor, the kids and the communities where they live and work. These one-to-one relationships will build strong, trusting, lasting relationships. It is just the kind of grassroots effort the country needs to reset the adversarial dynamic our young people face. This program recruits individuals with badges in our community including police departments, sheriff departments, fire & EMS departments, state and federal correctional departments, etc. Currently, BBBSNWFL has
15 Bigs in this program, so this gift from Wind Creek Hospitality creates excitement for the future.

“We are grateful for our growing partnership with Wind Creek Hospitality and their consistent support to our mission.” Said Paula Shell, CEO of BBBSNWFL. “In many communities across the nation, relationships between police and the communities they serve are strained. The fractures have impacted so many and the associated challenges can leave us feeling that the solutions are beyond our control. The tensions also have divided communities, in some cases, along racial lines. One-to-one interactions can
make a difference and help to change the conversation. As an organization that has incredible expertise in creating and building relationships, we can do something to help and with the support of Wind Creek Hospitality we will change our community together one child at a time.”

“We are honored to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters and some of the most influential residents of Northwest Florida—Bigs who wear badges. Not only do the Littles get a Big Brother or Sister, but they also get a family. The significance of that influence is immeasurable.” Said Magi Williams, Public Relations Director of Wind Creek Hospitality.
